Sugarmate offers an extensive food library database (data from FatSecret) to seamlessly search for and log your food entries. To log a food entry by searching for a food, follow the directions below.

In the app:

  1. Tap the magnifying glass in the top right corner of the screen to bring up the Search window.

  2. Enter a search term, then tap the search button.

  3. Food results will be displayed under the Food heading. Tap Add More under that heading to see more results.

  4. When you find the food you're looking for, you can change the serving size using the > next to the current serving size.

  5. Tap Add.

  6. On the following screen you can edit any of the automatic entries and then tap Save to log your food entry, or + to add more to the entry.

To add a food entry by scanning the barcode:

  1. Tap the magnifying glass in the top right corner of the screen to bring up the Search window.

  2. Tap the barcode icon in the lower left corner of the pop-up box. This will bring up the camera on your device.

  3. Align the rectangle on your camera to the barcode on the food label and once it has registered the food it will take you to the Food Lookup screen with the information populated.

  4. Follow steps 4-6 above to complete the food entry.
